Fun Bathroom DIY Projects That Will Make You Feel Like A Pro

A bathroom renovation may be the most expensive home remodeling project you could take on. Fortunately, there are some great ways you can change your bathroom space without forking out the big bucks to hire a contractor. Here are some fun bathroom DIY projects that will make you feel like a pro:
Fun Bathroom DIY Projects That Will Make You Feel Like A Pro

Tile walls. Looking for a project that can dramatically change the feel of your entire bathroom? Then you should consider laying tile walls. This project is a bit involved and time-consuming, but you don’t have to be a pro to pull off some spectacular results. If you’re feeling really ambitious, you can extend the tile into the shower, or even replace a bathtub with a walk-in.

Towel warmer. Nothing says luxury quite like a warming towel rack. It used to be that you had to install a radiant heat system to pull this bathroom upgrade off, but self-contained versions have made installation a snap, even for an inexperienced DIY-er.

Drawer and cabinet pulls. Switching out this small detail can actually make a noticeable difference in the look of your bathroom. With so many options to choose from, you might just feel like not only a DIY pro, but also like an interior decorator. You may even opt to switch out handles for knobs (or vice versa), if you are willing to do a little extra handiwork.

Lighting. This project can change your bathroom up in more than one exciting way. In addition to adding a new decorative element to the bathroom’s design, lighting can completely change the bathroom’s ambiance. Consider adding “layers” of lighting; for example, a chandelier over the bathtub can create a dramatic effect while providing overhead lighting, pendant fixtures over the sink areas can provide task lighting, and a rope light under hanging cabinets can provide ambient lighting.

Dual flush kit or toilet. Using a dual flush system can save you a lot of money on your water bill–not to mention saving the earth’s resources. Depending on how much of a project you’re willing to take on, you can either purchase an inexpensive dual flush kit (for about $25) to convert your existing toilet, or you can replace your toilet with a dual flush model.

As you can see, there are plenty of great improvement projects you can pull off in your bathroom, even with little or no home remodeling experience. Roll up your sleeves, head to your local home improvement store, and be ready to make your family (and yourself) proud when you see just what you can do with a little creativity and hard work.
