Here are some things that you may want to consider looking doing while on your trip. You will need to pay small entrance fees if you want to visit Jamestown, but you will find it is well worth the cost. Admission for adults is currently about $16 and children can get in for about $7.
Take a Guided Tour
There are a number of tours that are conducted throughout the year. These tours can give you more insight into the history of Jamestown and give you a deeper appreciation for what the early settlers had to go through. You will hear details about Jamestown that your teachers probably didn’t share with you in your history class. The guides will even tell you about some of the horrors that settlers faced during famines and martial law.

There are several replicas of the ships that sailed from England to Virginia in 1607. You can go onto the ships and see what they looked like first hand.

You can enjoy a modern dining experience while still appreciating the history that Jamestown has to offer. The Jamestown Settlement Café in Williamsburg is one of the best places to visit. They have some great dishes that tourists enjoy. Some of the most popular meals are the Angus burgers, specialty pizzas and Brunswick Stew.
When Should You Visit
You can visit Jamestown any time of the year. However, the best time of the year to visit will be in the late spring or fall. The weather will be much cooler and you will find that it is a lot more bearable if you are going to be biking or walking around all day.
You can try to visit during the summer months as well, but you will probably find that it is a lot muggier and more humid. Then again, you may have a better idea of what the earlier settlers had to go through when they first arrived in Jamestown.
