4 Tips For Choosing The Perfect Valentine’s Day Dress

Valentine’s Day is less than three weeks away. You may be stressing over what to do, where to go, and what to wear. Chances are, you will soon be visiting tons of dress stores of shopping online for the perfect Valentine’s Day dress or outfit. Regardless of where you going and whom you’re going with, there’s a few tips you should keep in mind for choosing the perfect Valentine’s Day dress. Here are 4 tips for choosing the perfect Valentine’s Day Dress.

  1. Give Yourself Time
  2. Yes, there are three weeks until Valentine’s Day. You might think you have plenty of time to find the perfect dress. However, you should not wait until the last minute. Start searching now so that you’ll have plenty of time to have your dressed shipped for you if you are buying it online. Even if you plan to buy from a brick and mortar store you should give yourself time to look and extra time in case you end up needing to have your dress altered.

  3. Consider Who You’re Going With
  4. Are you going out on a Valentine’s Day date with your long-time boyfriend, or are you just going to be hanging out with your single gal pals? Perhaps you’re just going out for a nice meal with a casual acquaintance. Your relationship with the person(s) you’re going out with may affect how you dress. Try a knee-length dress that shows just a hint of skin. If you’re going out with friends or a casual acquaintance you might want to be a little more conservative with your dress.

  5. Consider Where You’re Going
  6. Are you going out for a meal at a fancy restaurant, or are you going clubbing? Try to plan ahead so that you are aware of any dress codes. A fancy restaurant may require you to wear a more formal, conservative dress. Longer dresses are usually more appropriate for these settings. If you’re going to go clubbing then having a sexy dress is key. Opt for a dress that is short, tight, and revealing. One-shoulder and sequin dresses work especially well for club settings.

  7. Think About What You’re Going to be Doing
  8. Are you just going to be eating or will you be participating in a more active activity? Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to consist solely of dinner, a movie, and/or clubbing. If you’re going to be walking around a lot you may want a more comfortable dress or one that will look good with flats. However, if you’re going to be sitting down a lot you’ll have more flexibility with materials and shoes to wear with it. Try on several different styles of dresses so that you can choose one you feel the  most comfortable in. If possible, try it on with the shoes you plan to wear as well so you can get a feel for how the shoes go with the dress and so that you’ll know if the length works well for you. You don’t want a dress that is too short or one that is so long you trip over it.
