Two weeks ago I purchased Maybelline Fit Me in 120 (Classic Ivory) just to quickly realize that I got the wrong shade since it’s a bit darker and with yellow undertone. The problem were those lights in dm drugstore which gave me completely wrong idea about the shade I’m getting! So, I ended up getting shade 115 Ivory too which suits me really well since this shade is lighter and cool-toned.
So, 115 is perfect for fair-light with cool undertones while 120 is good for light-medium yellow undertones. Unfortunately, the lightest shade 110 Porcelain isn’t available in Croatia, though this foundation has a huge range but, as always, many of them aren’t available in our drugstores.
Comparison of 115 and 120 in daylight, no flash:
I really can’t believe I managed to get such wrong shade! 😀
Packaging
Glass bottle with pump which is great (I hate foundations which don’t have pumps!). I think that one pump is enough for entire face, at least one layer of coverage.
Formula
Formula is light, medium thin which means that this foundation can be applied faster but you have to keep in mind that it does absorb somehow quickly so you have to work faster with it to smudge and blend it evenly. I’m using my e.l.f. powder brush which is an amazing and cheap brush! Since this is ligther foundation I have to say I don’t really feel it on my face, as I don’t wear anything. Also, it’s non-drying and doesn’t make my T-zone oily either. I think it would be most suitable for those with normal skin but how many of you are out there who have normal skin? 🙂
And yes, I almost forgot to mention – shade 120 does oxidize a bit while shade 115 isn’t. So, check somehow if the shade you want does oxidize since that is important. You don’t wanna look darker and/or orange at the end of the day, lol.
Coverage
Light to medium, I’d say. I really don’t have any issues that have to be covered so this is basically enough to make my skin look even. I do have some small redness issue but this is well covered with only one layer of foundation. But, I don’t think this foundation would be suitable for those who need heavier coverage since its formula is really light.
Lasting Power
On my face it lasts for about 6-8 hours, depending on my T-zone that day so I wouldn’t recommend Fit Me for someone with oily skin. I’m pretty sure it would somehow slide off your face after that time. Also, I do use loose or compact powder to fix it and I think I should use it also once after 6 hours though I don’t do that. I haven’t noticed it gets into those fine lines around my lips and nose.
Price
It retails for approx $19 here in Croatia and it contains 30 ml of product.
All in all, I am satisfied with what I got and I do think I’ll keep using it for a long time. As I mentioned above, it would be ideal for someone with normal skin but you can pull it too if you have combination skin like I do. If your skin is oily – I’d skip it. 🙂
Have you tested this foundation? Are you satisfied?
